PLURALE - Festival of Young Talents

The “Festival of Young Talents” will take place again next year - but with the new name PLURALE and at a different location. This is because the Kunsthochschule Kassel is a new partner in this unique nationwide cooperation project. Students of the arts - whether visual arts, music, dance, performance, drama or design - as well as curatorial studies and dramaturgy at the universities in Frankfurt, Mainz, Giessen, Kassel and Offenbach are working together and developing cooperative works that will be presented in May 2025 in the documenta Halle and the Hessisches Staatstheater in Kassel.

Students and graduates of the participating institutions are invited to apply with project ideas that can be seen as experiments or research work. All forms of artistic expression are permitted as individual or group work (in individual cases, the presentation of extensive projects through documentation is also possible). Projects from the field of theory, such as symposia, can also be submitted. Concepts for projects in public space are also possible.

An exposé consisting of a project concept and the expected project budget is expected. Only realization costs are to be stated in the calculation (no fees for the participants, fees for third parties by arrangement). The technical costs should be shown in a separate item. A portfolio with work samples of past projects is also part of the application. For details, see the end of the call text.

Only students and graduates (graduating in 2024 or 2025) of the aforementioned institutes can participate, provided that at least one partner from one of the other universities is integrated. The “partner search” is supported by the central coordination office in cooperation with the respective contact persons at the universities.

How to apply
The following documents must be submitted for an application

1. exposé

1 PDF (max. 5 MB) with

  •     one page project description plus sketches,
  •     a rough cost calculation of the materials required and
  •     a list of the technology expected to be used,
  •     including contact details and
  •     Name of the university
  •     File name contains the name of the submitter, e.g. Project_first_last_name.pdf

2. portfolio

  • 1 PDF (max. 20 MB)
  • including contact details and name of the university
