The “semester ticket” enables students to use buses, trams and trains in the area covered by the North Hessen Transport Network (NVV) and beyond on certain routes free of charge – e.g. to Eisenach, Paderborn, Göttingen and Fulda. The semester ticket is not only available without any restrictions during the semester, but also in the semester holidays (the lecture-free period). Students’ obligation to pay the contribution is based on a contractual arrangement between the General Students’ Committee (AStA) and the transport companies concerned.
