Games

Kunsthochschule Kassel Games is focused on the creation of 2D/3D/4D Realtime art using, for example: Videogame engines, VR displays, installation and performative practices. For our purposes a Game is defined as an approach to interacting with and directing a player or audience. Without participation of the player, the artwork does not exist. Beyond this very open principle a game can be anything. Students are encouraged to develop a multidisciplinary creative practice, thinking across genres and mixing methods to make worlds. We will explore and take part in the vibrant independent game making scene, learn about and explore the current uses of game strategies in contemporary artworks.

Games are something we all play. No experience is required to join the Games class but making Videogames is hard work which will take a commitment to learning various technical aspects to get the most from the program.
