Kassel Art Prize – Dr. Wolfgang Zippel Foundation

The Kassel Art Prize of Dr. In 2024, the Wolfgang Zippel Foundation goes to Nils Reuter in the field of visual arts and to Luca Alessandro Hettling in the field of music. Both awards are worth 6,000 euros each. The award winners were appointed by the city council of Kassel at the suggestion of the Board of Trustees. The artist Anja Köhne receives the Doris Krininger Prize, which is being awarded for the fifth time this year. The prize serves to promote Kassel artists aged 35 and over and is awarded regardless of genre. 

Mayor Dr. Sven Schoeller, who is also chairman of the board of trustees, announced the magistrate‘s decision: „With the awarding of the Kassel Art Prize of the Dr. Wolfgang Zippel Foundation to Nils Reuter and Luca Alessandro Hettling and the Doris Krininger Prize to Anja Köhne, we honor three Kassel artists with high artistic quality, exceptional creativity and a strong artistic network. We warmly congratulate the award winners and are pleased with them about this recognition of their outstanding work.” Dr. This year, the Wolfgang Zippel Foundation is also supporting ten cultural projects in Kassel and purchasing four works of contemporary art for the Kassel Artothek. “With the annual award ceremony, funding and purchases, the foundation sustainably supports the artists and cultural workers in our city and the region and makes an essential contribution to the strengthening, quality and diversity of the cultural scenes,” emphasizes Dr. Sven Schoeller.

Exhibition and award ceremony
The award ceremony and the presentation of the artistic works of the winners of the Kassel Art Prize of the Dr. Wolfgang Zippel Foundation and the winner of the Doris Krininger Prize will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. The exhibition of works can then be viewed at the Kasseler Kunstverein until June 24, 2024.
