Philipp Lange selected as curator of EXAMEN 2024
Philipp Lange is curating the EXAMEN exhibition (11.-15.12.24) at the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
The exhibitors at EXAMEN choose the curator of their exhibition themselves. Philipp Lange is delighted to take on this task: "It is a great honor for me to curate EXAMEN 24 with graduates from four different degree programs in the documenta-Halle. I feel warmly welcomed by the students, the art academy and the city of Kassel. In the exhibition, I want to let all the graduation works shine in the best light and highlight them as individual, strong and important positions within a complex ecosystem."
Philipp Lange (*1992) is a Berlin-based curator, art historian and cultural manager. After studying art history, communication design and curatorial studies in Berlin, Paris, Halle/Saale and Frankfurt/Main, he was a curatorial fellow at the Goethe-Institut and curator-in-residence at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. He has realized exhibitions at Spoiler, Mouches Volantes and for the UdK Berlin, among others. He has also worked as an assistant curator at Brücke-Museum and Schinkel Pavillon and as a curatorial project assistant at Hamburger Bahnhof - Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart. He regularly writes texts for exhibitions, catalogs and art magazines. Since 2024 he has also headed the KW Freunde e.V.
EXAMEN 24 - The plant through the asphalt
At the end of the year, the graduates and master students of the Kunsthochschule Kassel are presenting the unique final exhibition EXAMEN in the documenta-Halle. The exhibition brings together graduation works from the fields of fine arts, visual communication, product design and art studies. They cover a broad conceptual and creative spectrum, ranging from painting, sculpture, film and performance to innovative products and multimedia installations.
The cdw Foundation supports EXAMEN and, together with the art academy, sponsors the sponsorship prize, which is awarded as part of the exhibition.
