A workshop to try out, discuss and think ahead together - open to anyone who wants to actively shape the future of construction.
How can biochar change materials, reduce emissions and close cycles in the construction sector? This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the potential applications of biochar in the construction and environmental sectors. After a brief introduction to the basics of biochar and its role in the circular carbon economy, things get hands-on: participants can get hands-on at several experimental stations - mixing biochar with clay plaster, pouring concrete or experiencing the pyrolysis stove in action. In addition to the practical exercises, the workshop offers space for exchange and discussion: What are the opportunities and challenges of using biochar in building materials? What ideas are there for new products or processes?
The workshop is aimed at interested parties from practice, research, administration and civil society who would like to find out more about sustainable building materials and climate-friendly materials, as well as curious people with no prior knowledge who simply want to try it out.
