Media maneuvers: the Bundeswehr and image politics
Lecture by Professor Daniel Hornuff at the 58th Römerberg Talks .
As part of the 58th Römerberg Talks entitled „Bedingt einsatzbereit. Wehrdienst und die Pflicht zum Dienst am Staat“, Professor Daniel Hornuff (Kunsthochschule Kassel) spoke at Schauspiel Frankfurt on 15.11.25. His lecture „Medienmanöver. Die Bundeswehr und ihre Bilder“ was dedicated to the Bundeswehr's media self-presentation and the role of images, communication strategies and visual culture in the context of the military, the public and the formation of political opinion. In his lecture, Prof. Hornuff analyzed, among other things, how visual media are used specifically to generate acceptance and identification.
