eXtatic dreaming 360° - ecstasy in moving pictures
Moving images can send us into raptures, send the mind on a journey and lead us into extraordinary emotional states. Together with the Festival of Animation Berlin (FAB), the students of the animation class at the Kunsthochschule Kassel have researched how such ecstatic moments can be created on film - and translated their findings into a unique immersive cinema experience.
The result is the 360° film program "eXtatic dreaming 360°": nine short films with a total length of around 40 minutes that illuminate the topic of ecstasy from a wide variety of perspectives. The spectrum ranges from the tickling sensation in the stomach during a dreamed fall into the depths to the enlightening illumination after a long period of brooding and the joy of nonsense to pleasant horror and mental fireworks triggered by physical connection.
The program invites the audience to enjoy rapture for a little while in the immersive envelope of the dome - an intense, sensual experience between dream and intoxication.
