Nils Oertel, born in 1985, is a product and interior designer living in Kassel. Since 2018 he has been teaching as the Kunsthochschule Kassel as an artistic associate with Prof. Oliver Vogt.
Alongside his training as a carpenter, he graduated in interior design from the Detmolder Schule für Architektur und Innenarchitektur. Between graduation and beginning his studies at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (Product Design) he worked in design firms in Hamburg and Berlin. Since 2013 he has been working freelance as a designer and interior designer, and since 2015 in his own studio Drebes & Oertel. In their joint works the studio responds to changes in the working world and the requirements and possibilities associated with them. The portfolio encompasses both conceptual works as well as applied projects.
