Film and Motion Picture of the Kunsthochschule Kassel in cooperation with Filmladen Kassel e.V. present:
ZUSTAND UND GELÄNDE
Germany 2019
Director: Ute Adamczewski
Length: 118 minutes.
The starting point of the film are so-called wild concentration camps, which were set up immediately after the National Socialist seizure of power from March 1933 to eliminate political opponents* and are now largely forgotten. ZUSTAND UND GELÄNDE is about the overwriting of the sites by time and how different political cultures of memory have inscribed themselves in them. The film links three successive periods of German history into a loose narrative in which violence plays an essential role in the assertion of power.
Afterwards: Ute Adamczewski in conversation with Alex Gerbaulet and Jan Peters.
Date: 07.02.2023, 7.30 p.m. at Filmladen Kassel
