Filmmaker Melissa Dullius from the DISTRUKTUR duo will be our guest for a workshop with analog 16 mm film material entitled KAMERAFREI.
About the workshop
Using direct animation techniques and materials such as colorful adhesive tape, stickers, paint, chlorine, nail polish, markers, hole and motif punchers, cutters and scissors, we will design and modify 16 mm film strips. Processed 16mm material stripes that was incorrectly exposed or doesn't look as intented while shooting, as well as found films and imageless, monochromatic, blank, black or dark film stripes. Based on examples and materials, we will glue, perforate, punch, scratch, paint, draw, bleach, moisten, burn, emboss and project film strips as individual loops or as a series of independent film sequences.
Filmstrips, magnifying glass, projector and materials will be available for all participants. Bringing your own is encouraged, but not mandatory.
