Interactive lecture on the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas by Prof. Dr. Ernst van den Hemel.
This interactive lecture will focus on the work of the philosopher Emmanuel Levinas, in particular the concepts of "The Face of the Other" and "Totalitarian Thought" and how they are still relevant today for the analysis of current scenarios.
Dr. Ernst van den Hemel deals with politics, religion and polarization. Using methods such as social media analysis, sensory ethnographic fieldwork and playful hacking, he seeks to understand how divisions between the self and the other are created, questioned and changed.
This interactive lecture will be held in English and moderated by participants of the seminar "The Face of the Other" from the class "Multidimensional Strategies". The event is open to all students and academics of the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
