Next, again

A performance conceived by Louisa Jacobs in the exhibition hall of the Kunsthochschule Kassel.

We walk the same paths again, repeat what is known, copy what is familiar and beloved. And yet everything is in constant evolution, things change and new things emerge. The original is overwritten by the next moment while the clock ticks and ticks and ticks. In her current work, Louisa Jacobs uses movement to investigate the reproducibility of things and the constant renewal of states that takes place as a result. On view is a dance piece emerging in the moment. Two performers act in seemingly synchronous sequences, gliding through the space in unison, jumping and leaping, only to follow the impulse of the other body at the same moment.

Louisa Jacobs studied stage dance with a focus on instant composition in Freiburg with Lilo Stahl. She has been working as a dancer, performer and choreographer since 2010 and has created numerous full-length dance pieces, as well as performances in exhibition spaces. She is currently studying visual arts with Florian Slotawa at the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
