Invitation to the Frauen*vollversammlung

The focus of the meeting is on the election of a separate Equal Opportunities Officer (or team), as this position is no longer held by the University of Kassel.

All students, academic staff, administrative or technical staff, professors and visiting professors at the Kunsthochschule who identify as women or diverse people are invited to attend.

The University of Art and Design is the only department that has not had its own decentralized Equal Opportunities Officer for employees for over 3 years. Since 1.12.2024, the central Equal Opportunities Officer at the University of Kassel is no longer prepared to compensate for the absence of this important position. In April 2024, two student Equal Opportunities Officers were already elected, but there is still a lack of one or more people on the staff side. Without this position, current and future appointment committees and recruitment procedures cannot continue or even come into effect.

The aim of the meeting is therefore to elect a women's* and equal opportunities officer or a responsible team. Prior to this, there will be an opportunity to talk to an Equal Opportunities Officer from Faculty 06, who has been working successfully as a team for some time.

Role and tasks
The decentralized Women's* and Gender Equality Officers can play a decisive role in the implementation and design of the University of Art and Design's gender equality mandate through their electoral office. They have an advisory voice in committees of the Kunsthochschule and can also provide impulses on gender equality issues in the structures of the University of Kassel and beyond. The women's and equal opportunities officers from the group of employees play an important advisory role in the appointment committees and recruitment procedures of the Kunsthochschule.

The position leaves room for the development of own focal points within this area of responsibility and provides the opportunity for networking and further training.

Individual or team
As a total of five representatives from the group of employees and two student representatives can be elected for the School of Art, upcoming tasks and projects can be spread over several shoulders. A team in which all status groups are represented would be very welcome.

The equal treatment of all within the Kunsthochschule is very important to the Rectorate and it would like to support the future person or team in this task and include them in its work.

The employed Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers are elected in the Women's Plenary Assembly for two years, the student Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers for one year and appointed by the Rector.
