Mario de Vega (Mexico City, 1979. Lives and works in Berlin and Mexico City). The work of Mario de Vega includes site-specific interventions, sculpture, dramaturgy, publications and psychoacoustic phenomena that frequently push the limits of audio perception. Working in the fields of sound and visual arts since late 90´s, and Berlin-based since 2008, de Vega uses the exhibition space to dig into notions of verticality, privacy and ghosted machinery, using large-scale pyrotechnics, electronic interfaces and induced situations.
He has been guest artist and lecturer at Universität der Künste Berlin, Rijksakademie Amsterdam, Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt, Technische Universität Berlin, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión, Kyushu University, Tama Art University, écal, Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien and Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center, among others. De Vega´s work has been exhibited across Europe, Mexico, North America, South Africa, China, India, Chile, South Korea, Russia and Japan.
