For the 41st Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival from 12.11.-17.11.2024, the media art exhibition Monitoring will once again take place at various locations in Kassel. This time under the title "Bond Constraint Parameters".
The exhibition Monitoring presents 17 media installations and performative works by international artists under the title "Bond Constraint Parameters". The exhibition venues are the Kasseler Kunstverein and the KulturBahnhof Kassel.
In a figurative sense, the title-giving "Bond Constraint Parameters" stand for the unspoken rules and conditions that define our relationships with other people, things or their surroundings. They are the factors that determine the strength, flexibility and limits of these bonds - be it in interpersonal relationships, for membership of social groups or in emotional entanglements. As in a physical system in which certain parameters restrict freedom of movement, social norms, expectations, personal fears or past experiences also act as limitations in our bonds.
With works by:
Agil Abdullayev, Elisa Jule Braun, Benjamin Dobó & Anafee Fränznick, Fritz Eggenwirth, Samira Elagoz & Z Walsh, Karin Ferrari, Kerstin Honeit, Moritz Jekat, Zora Jöst, Hansol Kim, Thea Josepha Konatsu, Rita Macedo, Tess Marschner, Taiki Sakpisit, Stefanie Schroeder, Kathrin Stumreich, T(n)C
Monitoring takes place in cooperation with the Kasseler Kunstverein and the Stellwerk. All 17 works on display have been nominated for the Golden Cube, endowed with 3,500 euros and donated by the Kassel-based software company Micromata GmbH.
