"This exhibition includes paintings, lithograph prints and an installation based on intensive research into the Stonewall riots in NYC, as well as the AIDS epidemic and my own biographical experiences. My work confronts us with the social degradation of homosexuals while showing how sincere love could be found despite this darkness. My works trigger our instincts and make us intensely feel the dual nature of a homophobic childhood - the beautiful sides and the painful shadows."
This exhibition is a critical examination of the media's portrayal of gender roles and homosexuality and invites you to reflect on your own perceptions and past. Tears for Queers shows you how far we have already come and how much still lies ahead of us.
