The two-part workshop provides an initial overview of some important topics that need to be considered when setting up a business or becoming self-employed as a visual artist or designer.

- Legal forms and naming rights (sole proprietorship, studio partnership, GbR etc.)

- Where and how to register?
- Basic knowledge of sales tax and income tax
- How do you write an invoice?
- Start-up concept - sensible and useful?
- Artists' Social Security Fund (KSK)
- Who must or can insure themselves via the KSK?
- What special features need to be considered?

Lecturer: Dr. Maria Kräuter has many years of nationwide experience as a consultant, business coach and trainer. She advises start-ups and the self-employed, particularly in the cultural and creative industries.
