Finally - a queer film festival in Kassel!
The first Kassel Queer Film Festival on May 25 and 26, 2024 will not only show films - over two days, the Bali Kino at the Kulturbahnhof will also become a place of queer representation in Kassel away from the screen. Employees of Kassel's art-house cinemas, students and film lovers as well as various queer groups and associations joined forces at the beginning of the year to celebrate queer cinema, take a stand against social discrimination and strengthen the cinema as a social and political space. In addition to a diverse film program, there will be a lecture on the history of queer representation in film, a comic reading, as well as a party, a community brunch and a market of opportunities where queer groups and initiatives from Kassel will present themselves.
