Anna Holzhauer consistently works with questions about the nature of space and how it is constructed. In her sculptural practice the artist essentially deals with classical questions of form and perspective and looks for connections between line and contour – not only to develop her sculptures but also to understand institutional spaces within the context of art. Here her investigations into inside and outside, closed and open, as well as that which is included and excluded, lead not only to the forms her work takes but inevitably also to an engagement with her surroundings beyond art.
