Artists from the Kunsthochschule Kassel, the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, the La Plata Museum Buenos Aires and freelance artists will present their works during the 115th DZG conference in Kassel.
This is an interdisciplinary collaboration between scientists and artists. Some of the artists are both scientists and artists.
All art works deal with animals in any context and use different visualizations and techniques. From an individual point of view, the artists portray the animal and show us their narratives about animals, parables and myths, human-animal relations and gender issues.
A selection of short films will be shown in the upstairs cinema, the seminar room 4. Sculptures, installations, drawings, paintings, photography, performance, and sound art are distributed throughout the first and second floors of the Campus Center, inserting themselves between scientific positions by using walls, ceilings, stairs, and dead ends. We dive into the soup of evolution surrounded by sea urchins, we watch the wave whisperer trying to capture the melody of the ocean, we watch cicadas and ants at work, we watch birds and see a range of visitors that show up at our home throughout the year.
In collaboration with Prof. Bjørn Melhus and Prof. Martina Bramkamp, Kunsthochschule Kassel.
