Katharina Mludek has been a research associate in the field of sustainable product design and development at the Kunsthochschule Kassel since 2023. Her thematic interests lie in researching scientific methods in the design process, the interface of food and design, and social networks.
During her master’s program in Design Studies at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle she was a research assistant at the SustainLab, the MAKE - platform for materials and technology, and coordinator of the design studies colloquium “Raum für Experimente: Design und Anthropologie.” Her final project “Toastbrot – Fragmente einer Designgeschichte” was nominated for the Giebichenstein Design Prize in 2022. Before that she was involved in conceiving and planning a Berlin agency for culinary matters.
Katharina Mludek studied at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, and completed her bachelor’s degree with a thesis on the potential of social networks of social business.
