Dr. Benderoth, Katharina

Rectorate Management

Dr. Katharina Benderoth has been Managing Director of the Rectorate of the Kunsthochschule Kassel since April 2022. Previously, she was responsible for development planning at the documenta Institute and worked in the Department of Development Planning at the University of Kassel as coordinator of funds to improve the quality of studies and teaching. Immediately after her studies, she worked for six years at the International Center for Higher Education Research (INCHER-Kassel), where she gained experience in graduate studies and research management.  

Katharina Benderoth studied political science, global affairs and art history at the University of Kassel and Rutgers University, Newark, New Jersey. In 2022, she completed her doctorate with a thesis on strategies for the Europeanization of charities.

As Managing Director of the Rectorate, Katharina Benderoth is responsible for personnel planning, the budget and the strategic development of the Kunsthochschule Kassel. In addition, she prepares the content of the central committees of the Kunsthochschule for the Rectorate and represents the interests of the Kunsthochschule in the committees of the Kunsthochschule and vis-à-vis the university.
