The Kunsthochschule Kassel announces Rundgang 2024 (July 18-21) – Open House Days. To mark the end of the academic year, the doors will be opened to the workshops, ateliers, and studios of the study programs Visual Arts, Product Design, Art History and Aesthetics, and Visual Communication, as well as the Exhibition Hall.
From painting, sculpture, and performance to design concepts, film screenings, and sound installations, students present the results and processes of their artistic and design work. All those who would like to get to know the Kunsthochschule as a site of encounter and discussion for art, design, and scholarship are invited to the Rundgang.
The visual appearance of the exhibition is based on this year’s motto “Detox.” Apart from juice cures, retreats, and digital detox, the focus is on the human body. The student graphics team (Michelle Haupt, Karin Grünwald, Shirin Krastel) invites the viewer to look inside the body, which has an effective self-purification system. At the same time they encourage us to let ourselves fall under the spell of corporeality and sensuality.
The interdisciplinarity practiced in the teaching at the Kunsthochschule Kassel can be read as an organism. These interdisciplinary connections are metaphorically and visually translated as a living, pulsing network: by biomorphic structures, organic forms, and a delicate color scheme.
The Rundgang 2024 is conceived and implemented by an interdisciplinary team of students under the direction of Prof. Jan Peters (Film and Moving Image).
Entrance to the Rundgang is free of charge and the exhibition is open without prior reservation during the opening hours listed.
