The national competition "Bundespreis für Kunststudierende" supports outstanding art students in their individual professionalization as artists by enabling them to gain valuable exhibition experience outside the university. The national competition is held every two years and sees itself as a springboard for a successful transition into professional practice. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research sponsors the competition, which is organized by the Deutsche Studierendenwerk. The Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn is showing the exhibition of the winners.
