In the teaching program for Grundschule you study the subject of art alongside mathematics and German as your third subject. Art is studied as a so-called long subject (Langfach), which means that it encompasses more credits that the two other subjects.
Duration of study: at least 7 semesters
Aesthetic practice here is completed in the relevant formats of art education and supplemented in projects at the study workshops. There is a special focus here on the media, representational forms, and techniques that are relevant in the Grundschule. This means that in the art education study program the focus is not just on general theories and methods of teaching art, but in particular also on aesthetic practices of children and the associated teaching approaches and developmental models.
