Equality

Equality Officers Team, Kassel Art Academy
The Office of the Equal Opportunity Representatives at the Kassel Art Academy serves as a point of contact for students and staff. Equality is central to the Kunsthochschule Kassel profile. The fundamental goal is to minimise unequal treatment of different groups of people.
In accordance with the University of Kassel’s equality plan, the Academy of Fine Arts defines equality as the commitment to creating equal opportunities for all staff and students, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, family care responsibilities, nationality, ethnic background, religion, or physical and mental disabilities. The team provides advice on balancing family, studies, and career, advocates for equal opportunities for all genders, and offers support in cases of conflict, such as sexual harassment.
In addition, the equal opportunity representatives oversee appointment and hiring procedures, provide information on funding programs, and participate in committees. Their responsibilities include implementing the equal opportunity mandate and taking measures to increase the proportion of women in underrepresented fields.
The student equal opportunity officers represent the interests of female students in particular, address concerns regarding improvements to the academic environment, and offer support in current problem situations.
