Rako, Fabienne

Fabienne Rako completed her degree in Product Design, specialising in Sustainable Product Development, at the Kunsthochschule Kassel in 2023. She worked as an academic assistant in the Textile & Design departmentat the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam, where she was responsible for teaching in the field of textile technologies and, in addition to her academic work, was also in charge of organising and supervising the Textile Lab.

In her final thesis, she investigated the qualities of wool-fat-containing non-woven fabrics and developed a technical textile with beneficial health properties. As part of a PhD project in the Sustainable Product Development department, she is further exploring and developing this field of research.

At the Kunsthochschule Kassel, Fabienne Rako is working on the research project “CoDe – Co-Design for a Circular Bioeconomy: Transformative Pathways for Circular Innovation in the Bioeconomy”, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
