Nolte, Nadja

Research Associate | Sustainable Product Design and Development | Head of BIOLAB

Nadja Nolte has been a research associate in the Department of Sustainable Product Design and Development at the Kunsthochschule Kassel since April 2025. She coordinates the Experimental module in the thematic year “Transformations in Work and Economy”, which is offered through the Laboratory for Sustainability Issues at the University of Kassel (SDG+Lab). During her product design studies, she focused on the field of sustainable materials, fermentation and biotechnological material production with a focus on mycelial materials. She is co-founder of the BIOLAB at the Kunsthochschule, a platform for design and research at the interface of design, art and biology. Nadja Nolte studied at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and graduated with a diploma with a focus on system design. She then worked for around 3 years as a research associate at EDEK at the University of Kassel, researching mycelium-based building materials.
