How do creative works find their way into newsrooms, magazines and public contexts? Frauke Schnoor provides insights into the practice of photo editing and explains how visibility is achieved in the media. Drawing on her experience as a picture editor at ZEIT Campus and at institutions such as the ZKM in Karlsruhe and documenta, she discusses visual languages, portfolios and collaboration between creative professionals and media organisations. The talk will also cover current developments in visual communication, as well as the question of what skills creative professionals need today to present their work professionally and build lasting networks.
Frauke Schnoor is Senior Photo Editor at ZEIT Campus and Das Magazin (Switzerland). After studying cultural studies and training as a picture editor at the Ostkreuzschule, she worked on numerous media, cultural and exhibition projects. Alongside her editorial work, she publishes the newsletter ‘Dots per Inch’, which covers new developments in image production and visual cultures in digital spaces.

Experts from various sectors of the cultural and creative industries share their experiences, provide insights into their fields of work and impart practical knowledge on topics such as self-employment, visibility, funding, the art market, copyright and artificial intelligence.
