I Need To Be F*ing Kind – an exhibition project by Thomas Schmelzer, Donata Forrest Schmidt-Werthern & Langga Petz.
*Reclaiming Kindness: Time to linger. Space to take up. Resources to remain resilient.

The title of this exhibition project sets the framework. I Need To Be F*ing Kind can evoke different interpretations, adopt different perspectives and touch upon different themes. For us, it sets the tone. It guides our preparations, our resources and our relationship to the outcome.
Making the space our own as an ever-evolving hub, as a negotiation of space and area between taking and having to make do. Bringing the space to life with a three-channel video installation as a love poem to what binds people together, to poetry, and to three ducks on the river.
These artistic works are complemented and expanded by a – sometimes spontaneous – supporting programme, a clothes market, tea sessions and the exhibition library The Lingering Library of Kindness, featuring publications, texts, zines, as well as shows and talks by other artists.
Claiming the space and sharing it as a summer residence. Perhaps you’ll find the time to stay a while with us.
