From 21 to 23 August 2026, the Gallery Festival will be held under the theme ‘Meander’.
A meander is more than just a new twist: this year, the Südstadt galleries are creating an even more powerful cultural current that carves its own path through Kassel’s Südstadt district. The Galeriefest not only brings art to life in galleries, but also showcases contemporary art in temporary venues alongside traditional exhibition spaces – on streets, in shops, in shop windows, in backyards and on building walls.
Over three days, galleries and other venues will open their doors. Artists will present their latest works and invite visitors to explore, discuss and linger together. Alongside exciting exhibitions, a varied supporting programme featuring performances, workshops and events awaits you.
