Art installation at Bellevue Palace: ‘SOS Signal’ by Bjørn Melhus.
As part of the FREIRAUM KUNST exhibition (a collaboration between the Academy of Arts and Bellevue Palace), works by renowned contemporary artists – including Bjørn Melhus – will be on display from 12 June. Under the title “SOS Signal – A Light Shines in the Darkness”, the artist will send an SOS signal using light every evening, a site-specific artistic intervention at the Berlin official residence of the Federal President. The intervention can be viewed every evening from 12 June to 28 June 2026 between 9.00 pm and 1.00 am.
FREIRAUM KUNST – Academy of Arts goes Bellevue
The Academy of Arts is staging a pop-up gallery at Bellevue Palace for two weeks from 13–28 June 2026. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is making his official residence, which has already been cleared for renovation, available to the arts. Admission is free. Further information at:
