At the beginning of the year, the four filmmaking universities in Hesse are once again presenting selected up-and-coming student productions: The HESSEN TALENTS 2025 program contains 14 films that were created as final-year and semester projects at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Offenbach University of Art and Design, Kassel University of the Arts and RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden.
THE FILMS OF HESSEN TALENTS 2025:
Kunsthochschule Kassel
Hochschule RheinMain
Hochschule Darmstadt
HfG Offenbach
The film program was selected by professors from the four film-making universities in Hesse. They received support from industry professionals attending the Hessian University Film Day in Kassel in November 2024. Background information on the 2025 program, dates and contact details can be found in a free HESSEN TALENTS brochure and on a new project website, which will be published at the beginning of February.
HESSEN TALENTS 2025 will once again undertake an intensively accompanied excursion to the Berlinale, where they will meet filmmakers from the various program sections in master classes and visit the European Film Market (EFM) as well as film screenings and events of all sections of the largest film festival in Germany. In daily exchange sessions, they will reflect on what they have seen and learned as well as on the various facets of the film industry - from film business to film culture.
HESSEN TALENTS is a project of the hFMA (Hessian Film and Media Academy). The HESSEN TALENTS AG (Prof. Alexander Herzog, Hochschule Darmstadt, Prof. Angelika Levi, Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main, Prof. Jan Peters, Kunsthochschule Kassel and Prof. Tom Schreiber, Hochschule RheinMain, Wiesbaden) and project manager Borjana Gaković are responsible for the 2025 concept.
