Freiheit und Unfreiheit der Agrar- und Ernährungswende?!

Bread in process - a performance by the Foodlab for the SDG+ Lab panel discussion.

As an initiative, the Foodlab will be part of the event "Freiheit und Unfreiheit der Agrar- und Ernährungswende?!" on November 14, 2024 at 6 pm in the SDG+ Lab. The panel discussion will question the freedom (of action) of consumers, producers and farmers due to regulations and market mechanisms. What is the scope for thinking freedom and sustainability together?

Gernot Mählmann and Judith Wetzel, students of product design and members of the Foodlab, will open the event with a performance and intervention on the topic of bread. Based on the seminar bread in process in the summer semester 2024 by Sophia Reißenweber and Katharina Mludek, a (used) bread recycling station will be shown, which draws an analogy to the plastic recycling process: Collecting old material, shredding, granulating, extruding... bake, eat.

"Not fit for consumption" - the performance illustrates in particular the use of bread in today's food system.
