Jette has graduated from high school and is about to set off on a voluntary social year in Costa Rica. The trip is a wish of her single father Urs. He doesn't want his daughter to be stuck in the West German provinces like he is. Urs himself has just about enough on his plate, he has to look after his unfit brother Falk and manage the affair with his receptionist Nicole. Jette, however, is torn between her childhood sweetheart Mario and her desire to live up to her father's expectations. At the airport, Jette decides against the trip and, together with Mario, hides from her father for days. When Urs finally finds her again, he is forced to realize that he cannot force his daughter's happiness...

This sensitive cinematic close-up by Ulrich Köhler (MONTAG KOMMEN DIE FENSTER, SCHLAFKRANKHEIT) and Henner Winckler (LUCY, KLASSENFAHRT) has already won over festival audiences both internationally and in German-speaking countries.
