With Trickreich26, the animation class at the Kunsthochschule Kassel opens its current annual showcase and invites you to experience animated film as a process of transformation. And to provide insights into an artistic work process full of transformation, metamorphosis and pupation.
From the initial idea through sketches, storyboards and experimental intermediate stages to the finished film, the Trickreich26 program makes visible how a thought becomes a moving image. The works show animation as a medium of constant change: figures change shape, materials come to life, narratives grow, break up and find new forms.
The exhibition is intended as an insight into the interplay of technology, craftsmanship and artistic vision. Different animation forms and techniques meet individual handwriting and thematic diversity. The process of creation itself becomes the central narrative, a creative pupation from which new visual worlds hatch.
Trickreich26 invites visitors to follow these metamorphoses and discover animation not just as a finished result, but as a living, open process.
