The Companions Kunsthochschule Kassel e. V. has been providing the Kunsthochschule with conceptual, financial and organisational support since June 2026. The main aim of the friends’ association is to strengthen the institution in the long term and to establish an active network between the Kunsthochschule, the cultural scene and the wider community. Plans include the awarding of scholarships, intensive exchanges between students, alumni and teaching staff, as well as lectures, presentations and other opportunities for engagement.

The Executive Board consists of Bernhard Balkenhol (Chair), Helmut Plate (Deputy Chair), Sonja Rossettini (Treasurer), as well as Markus Braband, Mateo Chacón Pino, Hugo Noll and Regine Rosenboom. The Rector of the Kunsthochschule Kassel, Prof. Martin Schmidl, acts in an advisory capacity to the Executive Board.
